Mary-Ann’s Story . . .

In 2014 my sister was getting married and of course as chief bridesmaid, I wanted to look and feel fabulous. I didn’t have a massive amount of weight to lose, but it just wasn’t shifting.

But then I joined JM Fitness classes for this period of time in order to aid my weight-loss, and was at my target within a couple of months.  I had never felt better and what surprised me is that I discovered I actually enjoyed exercisingblack silhouette exercisers and eating well!

When I found out I was expecting a baby last April, I was determined to carry on eating well (most of the time!) and I carried on exercising regularly too. I truly believe this was a huge factor in my pregnancy and birth being smooth and positive. It also helped me massively emotionally too!

I gained weight . . .

Of course, I gained weight. I would also be lying if I said I didn’t struggle with that. My baby is always my first priority and I didn’t want to be judged for being so keen to get back into pre-pregnancy fitness and shifting those lbs.

As it does, my body had changed to accommodate my baby and I had become more relaxed on my daily diet. I gained around 3½ stone during my pregnancy, and had lost about a stone by the time I was thinking about PT sessions.red ringing telephone

I needed advice on exercise and diet and I needed guidance and motivation in those areas. I needed Jo!

Jo was amazing when we spoke on the phone for a consultation in early January this year. I was open and honest about how I felt. I started with Jo the very next week and I’ve not looked back.

I’ve walked away from every session feeling great!

My personal training sessions are just that: Personal and specific to my wants and needs. Not just that, but Jo makes them fun (though I don’t always feel that at the time!) she pushes me just that bit more than I do in myself.

She believes in me and made me believe in myself.  I didn’t even realise that I doubted myself before! But there hasn’t been one session that I’ve walked away from where I haven’t felt great. And the results speak for themselves.

I’m more toned than before I was pregnant!

silhouette exercise with weightsIn 2 months I’ve lost 1 stone 12lbs, and I’m more toned than before I was pregnant. Each muscle in my body at some point has ached after my workout with Jo, but it’s a good ache and it’s spurring me on even more.

I’m not too far from my target now and pre-pregnancy weight.
